About This Game
Mortal Kombat 1 is a fighting game for the Nintendo Switch, released in September 2023. Set in a new era created by Liu Kang, it reimagines familiar fighters with altered backstories and alliances. The story follows this rewritten timeline as peace gives way to a new tournament and rising threats.
Matches use the series’ signature combo-based combat with cinematic Fatal Blows and gory Fatality finishers. The Kameo system adds a selectable assist fighter who can be called in for attacks and combo extensions. Story mode delivers a full cinematic campaign, while Invasions mode offers a board-style progression map with seasonal challenges. Online play includes ranked matches and king-of-the-hill lobbies.
