About This Game
Metroid Dread is a side-scrolling action adventure from Nintendo and the first new 2D Metroid in nearly two decades. Samus Aran travels to the mysterious planet ZDR after receiving proof that the deadly X parasite may have survived. What she finds is worse: the planet is crawling with E.M.M.I., unstoppable hunting robots that see her as their target.
Exploration follows the classic formula of locked doors, hidden upgrades, and abilities that open new paths, from the Morph Ball to the Screw Attack. The E.M.M.I. zones add a new layer of tension, forcing Samus to sneak past patrols and escape in heart-pounding chases when spotted. Fast, precise combat with the Melee Counter, intense boss fights, and deep Chozo lore make this a triumphant return for the series.
