About This Game
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is a side-scrolling platformer from Nintendo that rebuilds the 2010 Wii adventure for the Nintendo Switch with updated HD visuals. When the Tiki Tak Tribe steals Donkey Kong’s banana hoard, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong set off across Donkey Kong Island to take it back.
The gameplay delivers classic run-and-jump platforming across jungles, beaches, ruins, and caves, with mine-cart rides and rocket-barrel flights breaking up the on-foot stages. Two-player cooperative play lets a second player join as Diddy Kong, and the Switch version adds an extra cloud world plus a modern mode with additional hearts for a gentler challenge. The game keeps the precise controls and rhythmic level design the series is known for.
