About This Game
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is an action game for Nintendo Switch, released on November 20, 2020. The story takes place 100 years before the events in Hyrule’s great war against Calamity Ganon, as Link, Princess Zelda, Impa, and the four Champions fight to defend the kingdom. A small Guardian named Terrako travels back in time to warn them of the coming disaster, and the campaign plays out across the regions of Hyrule.
Combat follows large-scale Musou battles, where each character cuts through hundreds of enemies with combos, Sheikah Slate runes like remote bombs and stasis, and weak-point attacks that open up bigger strikes. The playable roster grows to 18 characters, including the four Champions, and some missions put you in control of the giant Divine Beasts. Between battles, a map of Hyrule unlocks new missions, shops, and upgrades, and a second player can join in local co-op.
