About This Game
Kirby Star Allies is a side-scrolling platform game from Nintendo, released for the Nintendo Switch in March 2018. When dark hearts rain down on Planet Popstar and take control of its inhabitants, Kirby sets out to put things right, and this time he does not go alone: struck by a heart of his own, he gains the power to turn enemies into allies and build a traveling party as he crosses Dream Land and beyond in search of the source of the darkness.
Kirby still inhales enemies to gain copy abilities such as Sword, Fire, Water, and Bomb, alongside new ones including Spider, Artist, and Staff. Throwing a Friend Heart at an enemy recruits it, and up to three allies can follow Kirby at once, each fighting with its own moveset. Allies can lend their element to a weapon ability, turning a plain sword into a flaming, icy, or electric blade, and the whole party can join together for Friend Actions such as the Friend Circle and the Friend Bridge to get past obstacles. Up to four players can play together locally, with extra players taking control of the recruited allies, and alongside the main story there are minigames and extra challenge modes.
