About This Game
MONSTER HUNTER RISE: SUNBREAK is an action role-playing game for the Nintendo Switch, released in June 2022. Set after the events in Kamura Village, the story follows the hunter to the Elgado Outpost to investigate aggressive monsters and a series of strange occurrences. The trail leads to the Citadel, a ruined fortress surrounded by new hunting grounds, and the vampire-like elder dragon Malzeno.
Gameplay centers on tracking and hunting large monsters across open locales, carving materials from them to forge stronger weapons and armor. Sunbreak introduces the Master Rank quest tier with tougher monster behaviors, alongside new Silkbind attacks and the ability to swap Switch Skills mid-hunt. New monsters include Lunagaron and Garangolm alongside returning favorites, and Follower quests allow hunting beside AI companions. Anomaly Investigations add randomized endgame hunts with escalating difficulty.
